We are at the center of a perfect storm: a trade war, threat to our sovereignty and Canadian values, the climate crisis, cost of living pressures, and weak economic growth. I can’t sit on the sidelines. 

I am “all in” to fight for Canada.  We all are.

Why am I running?

I am passionate about preserving our Canadian way of life and building a diversified economy that creates good jobs for all and safeguards our social programs and the environment.

These are challenging times, yes. However, we must also unite around a new vision for Canada that galvanizes and sustains the resolve we all feel today. I have the determination, business expertise and political experience to play this important role in the next Parliament.

Implement policies and foster market conditions that support equitable access to housing enabling all to thrive.

By addressing housing supply, affordability, and accessibility, we can ensure that everyone—from young families to seniors—has a secure and sustainable place to call home. This will strengthen communities and reduce barriers to economic opportunity.

About Petra Kuret

Passionate Business Leader | Change Maker | Community Builder

Petra is a transformational leader with over 35 years of diverse experience in business, financial services, politics, and artificial intelligence.

She began her career in the political arena, serving as a Parliamentary Page, working for a Member of Parliament and Senator, and running a Member of Parliament’s campaign in England.

In 1993, Petra joined Accenture, a global 800,000 person technology and consulting company, to serve North American clients in the utilities, oil and gas and mining sector. She led multi-million dollar technology projects, large mergers and acquisitions, and business transformation projects. Petra later ran complex client-owned operations with global teams. She is known for her authentic, inclusive approach with teams, strong and trusted relationships with clients, and her innovative problem solving to achieve measurable outcomes.

Petra was appointed Accenture’s Managing Director for BC in 2012, during which she tripled the growth and had the highest employee engagement ratings in Canada. She joined the Accenture Canada Leadership Team and collaborated with leaders to strengthen Canadian companies.

As Senior Vice President Transformation at Vancity Credit Union, Petra worked at the intersection of strategy and implementation to accelerate the performance of the business and use finance as a tool for social impact and climate change.

Petra was recognized as Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada in 2016 and 2017.

As a changemaker, Petra joined a Silicon Valley-based artificial intelligence start-up with a mission that every person on the planet have employment to create economic security for all. Recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Tech Pioneer, the advanced AI helps individuals, communities and countries transition to a modern, skills-based economy with a view of all four sides of the labour market. Government, educational institutions, employers and job seekers access the real-time view of the supply and demand of skills to create new and different career pathways while reskilling at pace. Petra worked with Fortune 500 companies and governments to architect the important shift to becoming skills-based. Petra will bring this invaluable experience in the field of responsible AI and the the future of work to Ottawa.

Petra is an avid champion for inclusivity and passionate about building strong communities, both within and outside of the workplace. She is a speaker on panels, has lectured at local universities including having a passion for mentoring the next generation. Petra is a dedicated community builder with organizations like Mosaic, Canada’s largest resettlement and employment agency for newcomers and refugees, where she is the Board Chair. She has volunteered with Junior Achievement, BC Women’s Hospital, Minerva, we.org and others. For years, her passion project has been the design and soon to be built $100M+ innovative model of care for a complex care home for seniors where she was past Board Chair. Petra is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and has a Sustainability & ESG Designation (GCB.d).

Petra earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science from Carleton University and speaks English, French and German. She is a first-generation Canadian and has called Vancouver Quadra home for 45 years. Petra, John, Gabe and Annika (plus corgi Ember) live in Dunbar.
